Enhancing Our Curriculum
Educational Visits
Educational visits are a core part of what we offer at Holme Community School. We want children to develop a love of learning and to experience life beyond Holme Village. As a result, we've designed a two-year cycle of Educational Visits that link directly with our curriculum and offer our children a breadth of rich experiences and happy memories.
If you have any questions about our educational visits, please speak to Mr Horrocks our Education Visits Coordinator.
Our Educational Visits Curriculum
Forest Schools
Each half term, each class has at least one 'forest school' session with our forest school practitioner, Miss Halhead. We've designed a forest school curriculum that is progressive - it builds on practical skills over time but also promotes our school values.
Music Tuition
We are passionate about promoting the many varied talents of our children. We believe that all children should have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument and therefore provide this within our curriculum. We also recognise that some children will wish to explore a wider range of musical opportunities and as such we offer music tuition in the following instruments:
- Acoustic Guitar
- Electric Guitar
- Piano
- Keyboard
- Violin
- Cello
We also have a vibrant and active choir.
